Votes more important than human lives?

It took almost 1 week or more for our civic authorities to decide whether they should close down the city when people were dying of swine flu.

And for state assembly elections no hesitation at all? Vote number will increase, is the reason given for shutting down city. Our politician only care about there votes and nothing else. There must be some political influence on decision to close city for elections. But not for people, not to restrict the pandemic outbreak. Nobody cares.

Anybody believe only closing city will increase vote numbers?
