How to reach office in 2hrs...

Please take note, before reading:

1) It takes maximum 15 minutes to reach office from STOP1.

2) This is 99% true incident.

Warning: This could happen to anyone who comes to Hinjewadi, so be prepared.

Pune is a one of the major hub for IT (information technology), and Hinjewadi will be a switch if we talk in terms of networking.

Many companies offer bus services to their employees and some not. My company too provides bus services, but not in my area (need not mention my area name).

People wake up in morning and go to office as per their convenience. But for me it is a very big task. I go to bed and that’s where my next day starts.

How to go to office tomorrow? When I'll reach office?

I can tell when and how to reach office, only after I reach office, and its daily routine for me. I cannot change it.

It started the day we moved out of a good area to so called my area. I never thought it would be too hectic for me.

Everyday is a new day and that’s true in my case. Everyday I need to find different ways, conveyance to reach office.

Last week, on Wednesday total experience was patience testing.

Wednesday 13th August 6:30 am

I woke up, completed daily necessities, prayed to god and I was on my way to stop (This stop, STOP1 is where I get six seater to catch company bus at another stop, which is STOP2).

7:15 am

I was at STOP1. As usual I did not get six-seater till 7:45 am. I was waiting like idiot expecting that I'll get six-seater in time and would be able to catch the bus easily.

7:40 am

I could see a six-seater coming my way. I was overcrowded. I had to wait till next comes. It was almost 25 minutes I was standing there in rain (off course I had umbrella with me).

7:47 am

Finally I got six-seater to STOP2. But it was not over, patience testing. There were barely 3 seats vacant and driver wanted 4 people to be seated. He managed to do so somehow and I was heading toward STOP2.

7:57 am

I was walking towards STOP2 and I could see bus going.I was like wt* man; not again. Yeh hamesha mere sath hi kyon hota hai?

8:00 am

I am at STOP2 now waiting...huh

It was like a race of thoughts inside my mind; like it was the last bus on earth to my office and I just missed that, am I going to die waiting here, some truck driver will loose control and crush me...

8:13 am

I was completely frustrated and to my help it was there as usual, rain; pouring heavily.

After waiting few more minutes,I go, if nothing comes till 8:15, I am going back. No office today, could go for movie. For a moment I was happiest man on planet.

And a moment later, I was the luckiest man on earth. I could see a six-seater coming and that too before 8:15.

What made me board the six-seater, I don't know, may be the stupid bet earlier I made with myself?

Anyways, I was heading towards STOP3.

8:20 am at STOP3

STOP3 is the busiest square in Pune I guess. From STOP3, 2 or 2.5km is my office located. If you are lucky, you'll immediately get any conveyance means to office.

But as I was having fabulous day since morning, I expected I'll have to wait a little more.

8:25 am

I got another six-seater to STOP4 and as usual heavy traffic. I don’t know how many people come to Hinjewadi everyday. Why do they need to come at this time only?

Another journey towards office started. We were moving with 5-6 km/hr may be more than that 3-4 km/hr, I don’t know.

I heard some IT professionals honking their vehicle horns unnecessarily. Don’t they understand there's heavy traffic jam and still they keep doing it? It was very irritating. All these cars, costly clothes, perfumes etc are only for show off? They don’t have a little common sense?

8:30 am

We’re stuck in traffic somewhere. Thought racing was still on.

I will be having status meeting at 10:30 am. What I need to say today? Everything was ok from my side, still I was thinking, what if my lead say something like you are not doing your job properly etc.

I will tell him, it’s you, who not doing your job properly. You are not the one who tells me how to do my job. I am sick of doing this now, I will change team etc.

I could see some bikers going from wrong side. Everybody wants to go early. I don’t know what they get by reaching 5 minutes early? I had seen one bike hitting other on wrong side 3 days back. These bloody people don’t care about themselves and not about others too. What if person next to him got injured? Bloody *#@#&, **$%#@, I could not recall enough of these that time (gaaliyan).

I thought somebody need to shoot these people, rather I would do that?

Why I am doing this job? I am not happy? Is it only the money I am doing this? I could be encounter specialist and earn money (shooting these buggers). At least, I would be doing job for social cause? I could be a hero; (aur ladkiyaan to uniform waalo pe marti hai – a dialogue from RDB came out of nowhere) they will film movies on my life.

What the heck I was thinking, senseless. I knew, I was not going to do or say anything like that.

8:35 am

Still in traffic, and a jerk made me come out of day dreaming. Driver applied sudden break.

Some cab driver hit the rich IT prof. “Friendly” talk was going on between them, right in the centre of road. They didn’t care about people behind them. I didn’t care about cab driver, but this so called highly qualified IT prof. should understand the situation? He could have discussed after parking cars to roadside?

This situation was not new. It was daily routine on that road.

Somehow I managed to reach STOP4 at 8:55am. By the time I reached STOP4, I had resigned from job and had killed 5-6 bikers for driving on wrong side, 2-3 IT professional from honking, and some more for some other reasons.

One of my friends really hates this situation. I bet he would have killed more people than me and he would have definitely, 200% created a world record for saying maximum bad words (gaaliyan) in 1 or 2 hrs.

From there I had to walk to office and I was at office at 9:00 am, finally.

6 days later…

Tuesday 19th august

After fighting with admin dept., we got new bus started from my route and now I board the bus at my building’s gate. Interestingly my friend who created world record earlier, boards the same bus. I can not imagine how many world records he missed because of this

Very honest post. Dangerous confessions of an IT guy.

The application of education is missing in the "educated class" who take the wrong side and also some of whom feel that honking incessantly will move the traffic.

I can imagine the plethora of abuses your "friend" would use in this situation.:)

Reminds me of an article by APJ, where he comapres what Indians do in India and dont do elsewhere.. Guess we need more stringent law-enforcement agencies.
